![]() JOHN GILBERT CEO Appointed in October 2008 to his current position, John Gilbert is responsible for all DHL Supply Chain operations in the Americas region. Additionally, he leads the DHL Supply Chain Global Consumer organization, which is focused on ensuring consistent operational performance and account management of selected global key accounts. Previously, John was president of the Consumer and Life Sciences business units, where he oversaw operations and business development. John came to Exel in 1994 and has since worked in a number of disciplines including solution design, systems integration, project management, operations and performance management. ![]() MICHAEL J. GARDNER Chief Development Officer As chief development officer, Michael (Mike) Gardner oversees strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, marketing, integrated logistics design, solutions, sustainability and innovation. He also has global responsibility for some of Exel's largest clients. Mike joined Exel via the 2004 acquisition of Tibbett & Britten and has more than 30 years of industry experience with Distribution Centers Inc. (Exel), GATX Logistics and APL Logistics. ![]() SCOT HOFACKER Chief Financial Officer Scot Hofacker serves as the chief financial officer of DHL Supply Chain Americas, a Deutsche Post DHL business unit generating $4.0 billion in revenues. It operates nearly 700 sites located in six countries within North, Central and South Americas. Prior to joining Exel in 2002, Scot spent 12 years with Limited Brands. ![]() DOMENIC DILALLA Chief Information Officer As chief information officer, Domenic DiLalla manages information technology (IT) delivery and support. Domenic joined the company in 2000 and offers 30 years of IT experience in multiple sectors such as chemical, manufacturing, telecommunications, travel and third-party logistics. Twenty of those years include relevant logistics experience at Leaseway Transportation (Penske Logistics) and Caliber Logistics (FedEx Supply Chain Services), in addition to Exel. ![]() TIMOTHY SPROSTY Senior Vice President, Human Resources As senior vice president, human resources, Timothy (Tim) Sprosty leads the North American human resources team that supports associate and labor relations. He also oversees recruiting, compensation and benefits administration, organizational capability, training and development, and communications support for the Americas supply chain business. Since joining Exel in 2001, Tim has served in a number of human resources roles across the operation, including his prior position as human resources leader for the Consumer and Life Sciences business units. ![]() ROBERT McCORMICK Vice President, Design & Delivery Effectiveness Robert McCormick joined Exel in 1998 and offers nearly 20 years of professional management and international consulting experience. As vice president, design & delivery effectiveness, he works closely with each business unit's leadership team to advance the quality, project management and logistics design disciplines within the supply chain business in the Americas. Prior to Exel, Robert was the vice president of quality programs at a division of GE Capital, Technology Management Services, where he was responsible for quality and rolling out the six sigma discipline. ![]() PHILIP S. RENAUD II Vice President, Risk Management Philip (Phil) S. Renaud II is the vice president, risk management, offering more than 25 years of direct insurance and risk management experience. In this capacity, he oversees overall risk management for the Americas, which includes the functional areas of risk finance, claims, compliance and safety, health and environmental issues. Prior to joining the company in 2003, Phil focused on retail risk management and was responsible for multiple-location worldwide exposures for Willis Group Holdings Inc., Kmart, Limited Brands and Shoe Corporation of America Industries. Phil also established and managed the risk management function for a large hydraulic equipment manufacturer. ![]() MARK SMOLIK Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary; Compliance Officer As Vice President, General Counsel and Compliance Officer, Mark Smolik leads the Company’s legal, contract management, compliance, and government economic incentives teams. Mark joined the company in 2009 bringing with him more than 20 years of diverse legal, compliance, and government affairs experience. Prior to joining Exel, Mark served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Belron US Inc., formerly Safelite Autoglass, where he lead the legal, ethics, human resources, and government affairs functions, prior to which he served as Senior Corporate Counsel with The Sherwin-Williams Company.
Americas Regional & Industry Leadership ![]() JIM GEHR President, Retail Jim Gehr directs the Retail business unit's growth strategy, development and operations for name-brand customers in the big box, specialty, fashion, convenience and grocery market verticals. Prior to assuming his current role in 2004, Jim was senior vice president, operations, and responsible for Canada and the western region of the United States. In a previous position, Jim was also instrumental in establishing and maintaining the company's commercial finance department on an operational basis. ![]() SCOTT SUREDDIN President, Consumer and Life Sciences Appointed to his current position in 2008, Scott Sureddin is responsible for directing the growth strategy, development and operations for the Consumer and Life Sciences business units. Previously, he served as senior vice president, operations, with responsibility for the Southwest and Midwest regions, as well as Canada. Prior to joining Exel in 2002, Scott worked for 14 years for U.S. Foodservice, which was previously Alliant Foodservice and Kraft Foodservice. ![]() JOSE FERNANDO NAVA President, Latin America Jose Fernando Nava serves as president, Latin America, for DHL Supply Chain. He oversees business and operations, as well as more than 12,000 associates, in four countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. Jose is responsible for all business units including Consumer, Life Sciences, Automotive and Technology. He joined Exel in 2001 as the general director for Exel Mexico and was later promoted to vice president of Exel Mexico. Prior to joining Exel, Jose spent the majority of his professional career with General Electric and one of its joint venture partners in several capacities including procurement, mergers and acquisitions. ![]() TED NIKOLAI President, Automotive and Chemical/Industrial Ted Nikolai leads both the Automotive and Chemical/Industrial business units, where he directs the development and delivery of supply chain solutions within the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Prior to overseeing these sectors, Ted held various roles within Automotive including vice president of finance worldwide and finance director for Latin America. Ted joined Exel in 1996 from Ernst & Young where he spent more than eight years in a variety of tax consulting, assurance and advisory services positions. ![]() LUIS HUMBERTO ERAÑA President, Technology, Aerospace and Service Logistics As president of the technology, aerospace and service logistics business unit, Luis Humberto Eraña oversees supply chain operations and business development activities for the Americas region. Luis began his career with the Deutsche Post DHL organization in 2003, and has held a number of positions in both operations and sales. Most recently, he served as Mexico's country manager for DHL Express. Prior to joining DP DHL, Luis spent 14 years with Procter & Gamble specializing in logistics and customer service. ![]() DAVID VIEIRA President, Exel Direct As president, Exel Direct, David Vieira operates a home delivery network serving the United States and Canada. He brings more than 18 years of logistics industry experience to his current role.
