(June 25, 2009) – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has honored Exel with its 2008 Wingfoot Fleet of the Year award, which recognizes and rewards carriers for outstanding performance in a given year. The award is based on achievements against specific performance measures.
(June 4, 2009) – Exel Transportation earned the 2008 Sysco Supply Chain Intermodal Carrier of the Year honor for on-time performance, capacity commitment and responsive customer service. The award comes just one year after Exel Transportation won the contract to service Sysco Corporation, North America’s leading food distributor.
(May 19, 2009) – Exel announced today it will operate a new warehouse in Social Circle, Ga., on behalf of long-time customer, General Mills. The approximately 1.5-million-square-foot facility will be built and operational by mid-2010, and will serve General Mills’ customers in the Southeast region of the United States. Exel will provide distribution services for ambient food products such as cereals and snacks.
(April 23, 2009) – Supply Chain Management (SCM), Canada’s largest retail logistics services organization and an Exel company, has signed a five-year contract extension for its business with Walmart Canada. SCM provides dedicated transportation, logistics and value-added services to Walmart’s 312 stores and supercentres nationwide.
(April 14, 2009) – DHL Supply Chain, the leading supply chain management company in Latin America, announced a five-year contract with Nike to establish a new distribution center in São Paulo, Brazil. The facility will be part of an existing DHL campus, Louveira Distribution Park, and will support more than 30,000 individual products.
(March 24, 2009) – Exel announced the promotions of eight senior executives within the organization today. Associates represent five industry-focused business units and support functions including human resources and risk management.
(Jan. 20, 2009) – Exel announced today a new partnership with Fort McKay Group of Companies to provide transportation, material stocking and mail delivery services. The contract supports Exel’s existing maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) integrated supply solution in the Oil Sands Region of Northern Alberta.
(Nov. 13, 2008) – Power Packaging, an Exel company, recently donated $26,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Company associates, vendors and customers raised funds benefiting the NFFF at Power Packaging’s 9th annual charity golf outing held on Sept. 11, 2008.
(Sept. 16, 2008) – Exel announced a strategic partnership with Syncrude Canada Ltd., a leader in oil sands production. As part of the five-year agreement, Exel will provide in-plant logistics, supply chain design, and maintenance repair and operations supplies procurement services.
(Aug. 14, 2008) – Exel will now provide dedicated delivery services to 270 Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge dealers in five Midwestern states. The dedicated delivery solution is based on 20 years of experience delivering parts for Chrysler and uses the latest technologies to achieve results.
(July 1, 2008) – Exel Transportation Services earned the SmartyWay Partner Designation from the U.S. EPA based on its efforts to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions in its transportation brokerage operations.
(June 24, 2008) – Team members at Supply Chain Management (SCM), an Exel company, donated $50,000 to an eastern Ontario hospital. SCM is working toward donating $250,000 in five years through employee contributions and matching funds.
(June 12, 2008) – Rohm & Haas honored Exel with its Warehousing Provider of the Year award for 2007. The award recognized Exel’s efficient inventory control and order fulfillment.
DHL Signs New Agreement with Borderlinx to Improve Global eCommerce
DHL signed a new five-year agreement with Borderlinx, a U.K.-based provider of cross-border e-commerce solutions. The deal provides international shoppers the ability to order products from any U.S. retailer. DHL Solutions will provide warehousing and fulfillment services.

(May 21, 2009) – Exel earned the “2008 Supplier of the Year” award in the category of Goods and Services Operations from The Dannon Company, the world’s top-selling brand of yogurt. Dannon selected Exel’s Dayton, Ohio, site for the honor based on its improvements in quality, safety, cost, and overall performance in inventory accuracy and on-time shipping.
(April 28, 2009) – Power Packaging, an Exel company, announced the launch of the new Snapsil® packaging product to the North American food and beverage market. The patented “snapping utensil” is an on-the-go, single-serve package that integrates product storage with a highly functional utensil or applicator in one branded product. The product is available through a strategic relationship with Snapsil Corporation.
(April 21, 2009) – Exel Direct, the home and business delivery service business unit of Exel, recently renewed its contract with Crate & Barrel. Under the terms of the two-year agreement, Exel provides white-glove delivery and set up of home furnishings to Crate & Barrel customers.
(March 31, 2009) – Exel recently began order fulfillment and assembly services for ABB, a leading power and automation technology company. The centralized operation, located in Groveport, Ohio, will help ABB improve inventory and order accuracy, on-time order preparation, and ultimately service its customers more effectively.

Exel Celebrates Earth Day 2008
To mark Earth Day 2008, Exel partnered with the city of Westerville, Ohio, to clean up and beautify community parks. The company also launched its associate environmental program with a $10,000 donation to The Nature Conservancy.

Exel Wins U.S. EPA SmartWay Environmental Excellence Award
Exel has received an Environmental Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWaySM Transport Partnership for its efforts to conserve energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions from its transportation and freight activities. As a SmartWay Partner, Exel is working to increase the amount of freight shipped by carriers that have demonstrated improvements in fuel efficiency.
