Looking for ways to improve the fuel efficiency of its fleet is just one way Exel can do its part to help the environment. The company's efforts were recognized in 2007 with a SmartWay Partner designation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Developed by the EPA in cooperation with the U.S. freight industry, the SmartWay Transport Partnership is an effort to reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution, and promote cleaner, more efficient ground freight transportation.
